Nagpur is Country’s Largest Logistics Hub

Nagpur, which is termed as India’s Zero Mile due to its central positioning, is soon going to be the country’s largest logistics hub.
Known for its oranges, tiger reserves and scorching heat, Nagpur has been witnessing an increase in investment from retailers and warehousing companies.
A supervisor at a warehouse in Nagpur, who’s been storing goods for Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. feels that the ‘revolution’ has started. India’s largest shipping companies such as Container Corp. of India Ltd., Mahindra Logistics Ltd. and Transport Corp. along with US based company Deere & Co. plan to set up facilities in the orange city soon.

It has been said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s implementation of GST (Goods and Services Tax) on July 1 would spin-doctor the city’s fortunes. GST would replace provincial levies and convert India’s 29 states into a single market, which would make warehousing in Nagpur beneficial. Road, transport, shipping and highways minister Nitin Gadkari said, “GST would increase our economic growth by eliminating shipping delays across various state borders and by reducing corruption. We would no longer need to control borders. Goods would be transported from one state to another without interruption.” Source :- http://nationnext.in
